Resetting the door keypad code on a Ford F-150 allows you to replace the existing personal code with a new one while keeping the factory-set code unchanged. You must know the original five-digit factory code before you can create, change, or erase a personal code.
Method 1: Program a New Personal Door Code
Park the vehicle, turn off the engine, and close all doors.
Locate the five-digit factory door code. It may be found on the owner's wallet card, inside the owner's manual, or on the vehicle's security module label.
Enter the five-digit factory code on the driver's door keypad. Press each button within five seconds.
Within five seconds of entering the factory code, press the 1•2 button.
Enter your preferred five-digit personal code. Choose a code that is easy to remember but difficult for others to guess.
Wait for the door locks to cycle. This confirms the new personal code has been successfully stored.
Test the new code by locking the doors and then entering the new five-digit code. The driver's door should unlock.
Method 2: Change an Existing Personal Code
Enter the five-digit factory code.
Press the 1•2 button within five seconds.
Enter a different five-digit personal code.
Wait for the locks to cycle, confirming the previous personal code has been replaced.
Verify that the old personal code no longer works and the new code unlocks the vehicle.
Method 3: Erase All Personal Door Codes
Enter the five-digit factory code.
Within five seconds, press the 1•2 button.
Press and hold the 1•2 button for approximately two seconds.
The door locks will lock and unlock to indicate that all programmed personal codes have been deleted.
After deletion, only the factory-set code will operate the keypad until a new personal code is programmed.
Testing the Reset
After programming or deleting a code:
Press the 7•8 and 9•0 buttons together to lock all doors.
Wait a few seconds.
Enter the factory code or your new personal code.
Confirm that the driver's door unlocks correctly.
If equipped, verify that additional features such as unlocking all doors or opening the tailgate function as expected.
