After completing an oil change, the vehicle’s oil life monitoring system must be reset so it can accurately track the next service interval.
Method 1: Using Steering Wheel Controls (most common)
Turn the ignition to ON (do not start the engine). On push-button models, press the start button without pressing the brake. Use the steering wheel buttons to navigate the menu. Go to Settings → Vehicle → Oil Life Reset. Press OK. When prompted, hold OK until the system resets to 100% oil life. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to confirm the reset.
Method 2: Accelerator Pedal Method (backup method)
Turn ignition to ON (engine off). Fully press the accelerator pedal and brake pedal at the same time. Hold both pedals for about 20–30 seconds. The oil change message should disappear or reset to 100%. Release pedals, turn ignition off, then restart the engine.
Method 3: Basic Cluster Menu (older trim variation)
Turn ignition ON. Use the left steering wheel controls to access Information Display → Oil Life. Press and hold OK until the reset confirmation appears. Release and verify it returns to 100%.
After reset, the “Oil Change Required” message should be cleared. If it doesn’t reset, repeat the process with ignition fully in ON mode (not accessory) or check battery voltage, as low voltage can prevent reset.
