Follow these steps to relearn the TPMS sensors on the 2020 Ford Escape:
Park the vehicle on a level surface and adjust all tire pressures to the factory specification.
Turn the ignition on without starting the engine, or press the START/STOP button once while keeping your foot off the brake pedal.
Using the steering wheel controls, navigate to the Settings menu in the instrument cluster.
Select Driver Assistance or Vehicle Settings (menu names may vary depending on trim level).
If a TPMS reset option is available, choose Tire Pressure Monitor Reset and confirm the selection.
If the vehicle requires sensor relearning, activate TPMS Training Mode using a compatible scan tool or TPMS activation tool.
Beginning with the left front tire, trigger each TPMS sensor in the following order:
Left Front
Right Front
Right Rear
Left Rear
Wait for the horn to sound after each sensor is successfully recognized.
After the final sensor is learned, the horn will sound twice, indicating the relearn process is complete.
Turn the ignition off and drive the vehicle for approximately 10–20 minutes at speeds above 20 mph (32 km/h) so the system can verify sensor communication.
Automatic TPMS Relearning
Many 2020 Ford Escape models support automatic TPMS relearning. After correcting tire pressure, simply drive the vehicle continuously for several minutes. If all sensors are functioning correctly, the TPMS warning light should turn off automatically without requiring manual intervention.
